Blossom believes that without the full involvement of the whole family, a child cannot possibly reach his/her fullest potential, either in school, or in life.  Because of this belief, Blossom holds Parent School once a month.  Each session lasts an hour and a half.

A typical Parent School agenda includes:

  • announcement of any upcoming events
  • a demonstration of a Montessori material and its function in the classroom
  • a guest speaker

Aside from learning about Deaf Culture and American Sign Language (ASL), the families also get a chance to spend time with each other and share experiences.  To open the doors of communication for all participants, we provide a certified sign language interpreter for each Parent School.

Parent School is one of the many ways Blossom demonstrates its respect and celebration of the family as a whole.  Without the involvement of our families, our children's futures wouldn't be nearly as bright.
